Emma Stone Changed Her Hair & Career

Emma Stone is the new ‘it’ girl in Hollywood after her breakout lead role in Easy A. Emma, who made her first feature film appearance in the high school comedy Superbad, had to deal with a lot of rejection when she first got started in the industry.

But how did she finally land her first role? She dyed her hair!

The stunning redhead recently said in an interview:

When I first moved to LA, I had this agent who thought, because I was blonde, that I only wanted to play cheerleaders. So she'd send me out for all these parts where they thought: 'What a weird 15-year-old. It's not going to work out!’

I don't know if anyone necessarily underestimated me as a blonde - I think I just had a crappy agent.

So one day, in a fit of trying to do something different, I just dyed my hair dark brown and got my first role a week later, after which I thought: 'People are closed-minded, man!’ Like a different hair color changes everything!

For example, Emma Watson was centre parted hair when she was young (in Socerer's stone, chamber of secrets, prisoner of azkaban), but she change it to side parted hair when she is older.

'Dyed' - the word is dyed when you change your hair color with dye. And her quote should say closed-minded, not close-minded. Grammar police cracking down...

i really like emma stone. i think she is a breath of fresh air when it comes to the new young hollywood. and btw anonymous grammar police yes it is dyed but the term "close-minded" is correct; it can be close or closed-minded.

She dyed her hair. The spellchecker can't fix a lack of attention to detail.

Oops! Didn't catch the died vs. dyed and the closed-minded. Thanks for the heads up. Changes have been made.
