Seal Opens Up on His Split from Heidi Klum on 'Ellen'

In the wake of his separation from Heidi Klum, Seal sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on her show and opened up about the split. His honest, vulnerable interview is touching and sad, but we're glad to hear how much respect he has for his former wife. Take a look at the interview to hear what he had to say about his vows with Heidi, what he thought went wrong and why he's still wearing his wedding ring.

Seal said to Ellen, "I think we were shocked because you go into these things with the greatest intentions, when you say ‘I do’ and when you say ’till death do us part’ — those vows hold value, they are not just words. But these things happen."

He continued on in this honest interview about why "You just grow apart after a while. you try and you work through it, and the thing that you quickly realize when you are married and you become a parent is that you do the best that you can."

And when Ellen asked about why he was still wearing his wedding ring, Seal explained, "Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person. We will be connected in many ways until the rest of our lives, through our children and also through this tremendous admiration, respect and love that we have for each other.”

While all of this is very sad, it certainly is refreshing to hear such an honest, yet respectful, touching outlook on a marriage. We are not surprised to hear such kind words coming from him, but we are relieved to know that this won't turn into an ugly, name-calling tabloid saga. But really, how could it? Heidi and Seal are just too lovely and classy for something like that. They'll leave that to the Real Housewives of ... Everywhere.
