Super Pumped, an American anthology drama created for Showtime by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, aired for the first time on February 27, 2022. Before the first season aired, the series already renewed for a second season. This season is based on a book named Super Pumped by Mike Isaac. The second season will be based on a different book by Mike Isaac as well. Though the series renewed for a second season, it is unsure as to when exactly it will air. Since season one aired in 2022. The second season’s estimated release date is middle of 2023.
The main purpose of the first season of Super Pumped, which is subtitled The Battle For Uber tells about the ride-hailing company Uber. The series comes from the point of view of the CEO of the company Travis Kalanick. This series strives to show the amazing rise of Uber’s CEO and also the extreme fall. The seasons to come of this series are going to explore other major businesses as well. The CEO proves to be an all-or-nothing kind of guy and it proves to hurt him in the long run, and ultimately causes the downfall of his company that could’ve made him a billionaire. In the series, it shows that he truly didn’t know how to manage a business and it ultimately cost him.
Since Super Pumped aired, critics have had mixed reviews. There have been some really great reviews and some really bad reviews regarding this series. Some say that it was way too much to watch in one sitting and too packed with information. Whereas other critics stated that it was extremely interesting to watch. Critics also state it was quite entertaining to watch the rise and fall of the CEO and what he did wrong.
Rotten Tomatoes reported a 58% approval rating with an average rating of 6.3/10, based on 24 critic reviews. Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned a score of 63 out of 100 based on 19 critics.
