The Rookie

The Rookie, an American crime drama created for Amazon Prime Video by Alexi Hawley, aired for the first time October 16, 2018. The first season consisted of 20 episodes. Not long after the first season aired it renewed for a second season, which aired September 29, 2019. The second season consisted of 20 episodes. The series then renewed for a third season, which aired January 3, 2021. The third season consisted of 14 episodes. Not long after the third season aired, it renewed for a fourth season. The fourth season aired September 26, 2021, and consisted of 22 episodes.

The Rookie follows the life of John Nolan. John is a man in his 40s from Pennsylvania, that’s recently divorced. John wasn’t always a police officer, however, after he ended up helping the police with a bank robbery, it really made him think about his career. After that, he decided he wanted to move to California to follow his calling of being a police officer. Throughout the series you see John graduating from the academy and being the oldest among the rookies on the force.

The Rookie follows John as he tried to make his way through the dangers of his new job. Along with all of the unpredictable things that happen during his days. In this series you see him trying to make his career work as best as possible, even despite all of the challenges he faces at work every day.

Since The Rookie aired, critics have given the show mixed reviews. Some critics state that the show itself wasn’t entirely memorable, though the cast is really great. Whereas other critics have stated that they loved the series and that the main character on the series is absolutely fantastic and makes the show worthwhile. Overall, the reviews for this series are both good and bad.
