Welcome to Eden

Welcome to Eden, a Spanish thriller TV series created for Netflix by Joaquin Gorriz and Guillermo Lopez Sanches, aired for the very first time May 6, 2022. The first season consists of 8 episodes. Not long after the first season aired, it renewed for a second season. The release date for the second season has not yet been announced.

On Welcome to Eden, it follows the life of five teenagers Zoa, Aldo, Africa, Charly, and Ibon. These five people, are a few of the hundreds of teenagers invited to a party on an island. Though these five teenagers got way more than just an invite to a party. There chose to join a cult as well. When there invited to this party, it promises to be the best experience of their life. Though before going to the party, there required to sign a strict contract. This contract prevents them from bringing a cell phone and any friends. Once they arrive on the island, each person’s assigned a wristband.

On Welcome to Eden, the person running the party states that there is an exclusive new drink, though only five people with wristbands that light up will be able to try it. The five that get to try it are the ones the series follows. After they try the drink they begin to get dizzy and pass out. They wake up in the morning and it is only the five of them on the island. This series shows their journey and everything they go through on this island.

Since Welcome to Eden aired, it hasn’t received the best reviews from critics. Critics state that this series struggles to hold you attention and that you wouldn’t be sad if you missed watching it. Though when it comes to everyday watchers, they deem it a huge hit and people seem to love it.
