Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, better known by his online alias PewDiePie, was born on October 24, 1989 in Sweden. Felix's father is a businessman and his mother is a nurse. Felix has one sister. When he was younger, Felix had aspirations of becoming a video game journalist. However, in 2009, he began uploading videos of himself playing video games on YouTube and PewDiePie was born. He  soon became one of the most popular content creators on the platform. On August 29, 2012, PewDiePie uploaded a video titled "Minecraft – 'This Is How You Mine' Tutorial" which became one of his most popular videos. In the video, PewDiePie demonstrates how to play the game Minecraft. He has since uploaded several other episodes of "Minecraft Tutorials". Initially, he used the alias "PewDie", a portmanteau of words spelled as "pew" and "die". In 2012, he also signed with Maker Studios, and his following continued to grow. In 2013, PewDiePie is one of Time magazine's "30 Most Influential People on the Internet." He has since gone on to become the most-subscribed-to channel on YouTube, and has been featured in several publications, including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. PewDiePie's channel has over 53 million subscribers making it the most subscribed to channel on YouTube. He specializes in Let's Play commentary videos of the video games he plays, as well as sketch comedy and vlogs. He has over 5 billion views on his videos. PewDiePie's videos have been viewed over two billion times and he is the one of the most subscribed YouTuber in the world. In February of 2017, PewDiePie, a Swedish YouTuber and comedian, was at the center of a scandal when he posted videos containing anti-Semitic content. The videos contained swastikas and references to Hitler, which led to Disney cutting ties with him and YouTube cancelling his show. PewDiePie later apologized for the videos, admitting that they were inappropriate.
