Not long after season one aired, it renewed for a second season. The second season aired June 28, 2022, and is still currently releasing new episodes every week on the streaming platform Hulu.

Only Murders in the Building follows three people who all start out as strangers. The actors playing these characters are Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin. All of these strangers have one thing in common. That is their absolute obsession for true crime podcasts. Their obsession becomes even more hard-core when a murder happens in their apartment building. This murder happens in the upper-west-side and is extremely suspicious.

In Only Murders in the Building, the three strangers decide to team up to investigate the murder themselves. The decide to start a podcast of their own. On this podcast they talk all about the death and what they are doing to investigate this mysterious murder. The police ultimately end up ruling the death a suicide, which the three strangers refuse to believe is true. In this series, it shows their investigation of this very strange murder in their building.
