The Cleaning Lady, an American crime drama TV show created for Amazon Prime Video by Miranda Kwok, aired for the very first time January 3, 2022. The first season consists of 10 episodes in total. Not long after the first season aired, it renewed for a second season. The second season airs September 19, 2022.
The Cleaning Lady follows the life of a woman Thony De La Rosa. Thony is an amazing Cambodian doctor who ultimately ends up having to move to the United States. The reason she has to move to the United States is that her son is slowly drifting away and dying. He needs medical treatment from United States doctors in order to save his life. Though once moving to the United States, she quickly realizes that her path in the country won’t be as easy as she thought it would be.
The Cleaning Lady follows her struggles in the United States. It shows how quickly the system failed her, which ultimately leads to her having to go into hiding. In order to not be taken advantage of and mistreated anymore, she ends up becoming a cleaner for organized crimes. Thony is extremely intelligent, which ultimately helps her in the long run. She begins creating her path in the life of the criminal underworld. This series shows that Thony will do absolutely anything in order to survive.
Since The Cleaning Lady aired, there have been a lot of mixed reviews from critics. Many critics state that the show was extremely cliche and didn’t execute as well as it could’ve. Whereas other critics state that it was a super interesting series. And they praised the actors in this series tremendously for how they executed their parts. Overall, there have been some good and some bad reviews regarding this series.
