The Flight Attendant

The Flight Attendant, an American comedy-drama-thriller, created for HBO Max by Steve Yockey, aired for the first time November 26, 2020. One month after the premiere of the first season, it renewed for a second season. The second season aired April 21, 2022. This series is based on the novel the name of The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian.

The Flight Attendant follows Cassie Bowden who is a horrible alcoholic who drinks while on flights and spends most nights in random strangers’ beds, including some of her passengers. The morning after a flight she ends up waking up in a random hotel room in Bangkok, hungover from the previous night. The morning after her wild night, she wakes up next to a dead body. The dead body was one of her passengers on her most recent flight. The passenger had his throat slit and she had no recollection of what had happened the night before. Ultimately, too scared of what will happen if she calls the police. She cleans up the scene of the crime and goes to the airport. After Cassie’s questioned by the police, curiosity starts to set in as to who killed the man.

In season two of The Flight Attendant, Cassie gets her life together. She is now sober and has a steady, amazing job, so everyone thought. It is shown in the series that she actually relapsed twice and she is still having hallucinations about the person who is impersonating her. While traveling her target ends up assassinated. By someone who happens to look exactly like her.

Since the release of The Flight Attendant, it has received some mixed reviews. Some critics say it was great and very entertaining whereas others weren’t necessarily a fan of the show. Overall though, the reviews have been pretty good.
