Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, better known by her stage name Halsey, is an American singer and songwriter. Born in New Jersey in 1994, Halsey has had a whirlwind of a career in the music industry. She started writing songs at the age of 17 and was soon signed by a record label. She first gained attention in 2014 with her debut single "Ghost", which reached the top 20 of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her debut studio album, Badlands (2015), was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Her debut album, Badlands, from 2015 and becomes an instant success. Halsey's music has influence from her own life experiences, which she often shares on social media. Despite her young age, Halsey has already dealt with some major personal struggles, including being bipolar and self-harming. She has also been vocal about her experiences with sexual assault. The album's lead single, "now or never," was a hit and peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100. In February of 2018, Halsey announced that she would be going on tour in support of the album. The tour began in April and ran through October. Halsey and G-eazy have been dating since October 2017. They first met when Halsey was featured on the song " Him & I" with G-Eazy. The two started off as friends but quickly developed feelings for each other and started dating shortly after. The couple has been very public about their relationship, appearing in magazines and posting photos of themselves on social media together. They have also toured together and performed their song " Him & I" together.
