Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey, born Elizabeth Woolridge Grant on June 21, 1985, is an American singer-songwriter. She embarked on a music career in 2005 and first gained attention for her song "Video Games", which she uploaded to YouTube in 2011. Her debut studio album Born to Die (2012) reached number two on the U.S. charts and was the fifth best-selling album of 2012. It produced five singles, including "Born to Die", "Blue Jeans", and "Summertime Sadness". In 2013, Lana Del Rey released her second studio album Ultraviolence, which topped the charts in several countries and was certified gold in the United States. Its lead single "West Coast" peaked at number six on the U.S. Hot 100. This album has a rock influence that strays far from her previous records, and gains respect from new fans from all over the world. Lana Del Rey has released many other albums since, many incorporating different genres throughout the album. She also works with artists such as Asap Rocky, who even appear in her video for "Video Games". Another artist Lana is known for working with is The Weeknd. They appear on each other's songs. Lana Del Rey's newest albums have a much more relaxed and softer tone than her previous albums. She's reverted back to her singer-songwriter era and incorporates simplicity back into her songs as she did when she was younger. Lizzie Grant is her real name, and the stage name she went under before transitioning into Lana Del Rey. Today, many Lana fans listen to both Lizzie and Lana's music. Throughout the years there have been speculations of Lana's relationships. Right now, Lana Del Rey is dating Jack Donoghue. Jack is Courtney Love's ex boyfriend, and he is also a musician. The two have been dating for only a few months but their relationship seems to be going strong so far. Lana continues to release some of the most influential music of her times to this day.
