The Weeknd

The Weeknd, whose birth name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, was born on February 16, 1990, in Ontario, Canada. He is currently 32 years of age as of 2022. His parents are Makkonen Tesfaye and Samrawit Hailu, who split up not long after he was born. So he grew up with his mother and grandma as his father was never really in the picture, he was only around on occasion. The Weeknd had a pretty rough upbringing and had been arrested many times and was even homeless for a while. he also dropped out of school at the age of 17. Growing up The Weeknd also struggled with substance abuse. He was a heavy drinker and often did hard drugs. Though he is now sober from drugs and only drinks on occasion. He started his music career in 2009 when he started putting out music on YouTube anonymously. He ended up co-founding a record label called XO record label and from there released much more music. So far The Weeknd had released a total of 7 albums and is still making hit music to this day. In 2012 he released his first studio album titled Trilogy. 2013 he released his second studio album titled Kiss Land. In 2015 he released his third studio album titled Beauty Behind the Madness. 2016 he released his fourth studio album titled Starboy. In 2018 he released his fifth studio album titled My Dear Melancholy. 2020 he released his sixth album titled After Hours. And in 2022 he released his seventh album titled Dawn FM. All of his albums have been huge hits and have received many awards. The Weeknd has won a few Grammy awards and a total of 20 Billboard Music Awards so far, a long with many more awards as well. In current years The Weeknd has released his seventh album and has performed at Coachella.
